A Visit to Barnham CEVC Primary School. Learning Where Eggs Come From!

As part of Country Side Week, June 2025, we had the pleasure of visiting Barnham CEVC Primary School with two of our much loved Rymer Farm hens. The aim of our visit was to give the children a fun and interactive learning experience about where their food, especially eggs, really comes from.

The children were absolutely fantastic! Their curiosity was contagious, and they asked some brilliant questions about the hens, farming, and how eggs are produced. It was heart warming to see how engaged they were, and we hope we have sparked a few future farmers or animal lovers along the way.

In a perfectly timed surprise, one of our hens decided to lay an egg during question time! The children (and teachers!) were amazed and delighted, it certainly brought the lesson to life and reminded us how special these experiences can be when we bring the farm to the classroom.
